Adult Beginner Class (Papa Momi) – 11am-12:15pm:
Building a hula foundation. All basic hula steps, no hula taught in this class. Class is broken into 3 different sections. New students will learn all basic hula steps and fun warm up routines. Studio setting. Easy pace, minimum expectation.
Papa Laua’e – 12:30pm – 2:15pm:
Hula ‘Auana. Learn the graceful hula styles of Kehaulani Hula Studio. This class concentrates on the modern form of hula. Fluidity and grace. Masculine and defined.
Papa Lehua – 2:30pm – 4:00pm:
Hula Kahiko class. Oli/Chant, hula ‘olapa. Ancient dances of Hawai’i. Chants that take you back to old Hawai’i.
Papa ‘Olapa – Advance Hula Students.
Students in this class are invited. Test may be required. Kumu discretion. Not a class for everyone. Higher expectations, willing to work extra hard in papa hula and at home. Text, pop quiz, lots of Q & A.
